Solution. The two resistors at the top are in series, resulting 2R. The same applies to the two resistors at the bottom. Finally there are 3 resistors in parallel. The total resistance of the circuit is R/2.


(2) Determine the total resistance in the circuit shown Solution . The two resistors at the triangle top are in series, resulting in 2R, while the four at the bottom are two pairs in parallel. Each pair results in R/2. Finally there are three resistors in parallel: 2R, R and R. The total resistance of the circuit is 2R/5.
